About the Food Center

Who can use the food center?  Any grower, producer or entrepreneur who grows and or develops food products on a larger scale for retail and wholesale markets can rent the facility.  The kitchen equipment includes 40 and 60 gallon steam kettles, a tilt skillet, large canners, a gas range, convection oven, label machine, filling machine and much more than can allow anyone to process and package a product on a larger scale.

Product examples include jams, jellies, salsas, barbecue sauces, dressings, baked goods, candies just to name a few.

The goal of 3AJC is to provide a fully-equipped licensed facility that can eliminate the overhead costs that come with taking an idea and developing that idea into a product that can be produced, processed and packaged locally on a much larger scale. 

The Food Center can provide you with assistance in developing a product including developing the idea and recipe, getting the nutritional facts for that product, meeting all the regulations necessary to market the product and the actual processing and packaging  and labeling of the product.

In addition to the food center, 3AJC also has a docking station for the poultry mobile processing unit owned by Kentucky State University that will allow producers to grow, harvest and package chickens and other poultry that have been  for retail sales.  A honey extraction unit is also available for beekeepers use in the area.
